Your specific questions

Set up your mailbox(es) using the Spark tutorial:

Once the application has been installed and set up, all you have to do to configure your signature is go to the "Settings" menu:

Select the "Signatures" tab:

In your user interface, under "Email signatures", select and copy the "HTML code" displayed below the signature:

In Spark, click on the "Add a signature" button, then on the "HTML" button and paste your code :

When you exit "HTML" mode, you can also add text to your signature .

And that's it, your signature is set up, and will be automatically updated when you make any future changes.

Now you can test your signature by sending yourself an email BUT BEWARE that the link to your signature is NEVER active when the email is sent, only when it is received.

||| Apple very recently banned the display of images loaded from an external server in its Mail software. Our team is working hard to create a dedicated solution.

|| We invite you to take a look at the free Spark software (/en/article/integration-of-your-mail-signature-with-spark-on-macosx-c2bwju/), which easily takes over from Apple's software, offers a more recent solution, and offers total synchronisation between your devices (you configure it on your Mac, and it's automatically synchronised on your iPhone and iPad).

  1. Copy the HTML code of your email signature from your CARD.PM user account (select the text in blue then right-click > copy).

  1. Once you have copied your HTML file from your computer, go to MAIL > PREFERENCES > SIGNATURES and click on the "+" icon for the email account of your choice (if you have more than one).

At this point, either an "automatic" text will insert itself into the signature, or you can write a short text such as "essay" for example.

Next, exit the preferences and close the Apple Mail application.

  1. modify the .mailsignature file

For your information, this file is created automatically when you add a signature in the Mail preferences (step 2 of this tutorial) and it is this file that you will need to modify to personalise your email signature with the CARD.P signature.

To do this, go to your Mac desktop:

Keep the header in green and modify the code in red with your own HTML

3.1. go to FINDER

3.2. click on the GO tab and simultaneously press the ALT / OPTION KEY

3.3. this will bring up the hidden LIBRARY tab - hold down the option key to bring up this menu.

Or 2nd method :

In the Finder, select Go > Go to folder.

  • In the Go to folder dialog box, enter: ~/Library

Click Go.

3.4. click on MAIL > V8 (or other number) > MAILDATA > SIGNATURE

3.5. then find the last file created, which will be 1XC1D786-D938-3GZ9-FO29-2F02T7J8SL14.mailsignature (check the date and time of creation).

3.6. open the .mailsignature file with your text editor: here, you need to keep the header (green frame) and replace the body (in red) with the HTML code generated in step 1 (red frame in the screenshot below).

Area to keep in green and replace in red with the HTML code for your signature (copied from step 1)

3.7. don't forget to save your changes!

Before opening the Mail application again, you need to lock the .mailsignature file by right-clicking on it > then click on "Read information" and tick the "Locked" box.

  1. Check the result of your professional email signature

Now open the Apple Mail application and prepare a test email by selecting your signature.

MAIL :

  • Open and connect to your CARD.PM user interface on your iPhone from your SAFARI **browser (essential) then go to the "EMAIL SIGNATURE" section.

  • Once your signature is on the screen, tap on the "COPY SIGNATURE" button, which then turns green with the text "SIGNATURE IS COPYED".

  • Then go to the Settings menu on your iPhone

  • Then Signature

  • Once you're in the signature management menu, all you have to do is paste your signature in the box provided, selecting the right email account.

IMPORTANT: You must insert at least one character above or below the image for it to be taken into account by the Mail application. You can also, for example, add a personalised text: "Yours truly" / "Your first name" or a simple dot "." or hyphen "-" below the image of your signature. Without this step, the signature will not load in your emails.

  • Once you've pasted the signature, you need to shake (yes, shake) your iPhone hard to bring up the "Undo Modify Attributes" menu **this will depend on your OS version (before iOS 13).

Tap on "Yes" and then tap on the arrow at the top left < Mail

Now all you have to do is test your new signature by editing a new email from your mail application.

Your signature should then appear at the bottom of your email.

If you get stuck on one of the steps or if it doesn't work, we advise you to restart your iPhone and re-start following all the steps in this tutorial or try using the [Spark] application (https://sparkmailapp.com/download).

**Your signature is now installed!

Now you can test your signature by sending yourself an email BUT BEWARE that the link to your signature is NEVER active when the email is sent, only when it is received.

Recommended software

To access your email signature, you need to log in to your user or manager account using the codes we have sent you by email.

Once in the interface of your card :

Click on the EMAIL SIGNATURE button:

This screen will appear:

Click on the "COPY SIGNATURE" button

Finally, right-click on the signature with your mouse or keyboard (CTRL key + V key or cmd key + V on the Mac) and "PASTE" it into the appropriate location in your email application. You should then see your email signature displayed.

For better integration and if your email application manages the html code directly, we'll put it at your disposal disposition**. All you need to do is make sure you are in the html settings field and "paste" the html text you previously "copied" into it.

Save your changes and test them by sending yourself an email.

Make sure you select the correct email signature before sending the email.

Please note: The signature link is NEVER active when you edit an email, only when you receive it, so it is essential that you send yourself an email to test.

When you receive the email, click on the signature. This should open your digital business card in your default web browser.

**Your automatic email signature requires you to be able to edit a complete HTML signature, which is not currently possible with all email software, especially on mobile devices.

That's why we advise you to choose these programs for a total experience:

Android

iOS

Microsoft Windows

Apple MacOS X

Linux

8 - Click on "set as default" to integrate the signature with a new email.

9 - You're almost done! :-) Go to "Settings" > "Preferences" > "Writing emails" > In "Write HTML emails" select "Always" from the drop-down menu.

And that's it! Now you just need to test your email signature by creating a new email. Your email signature should then be displayed at the bottom of your new email.

UPDATE: Automatic synchronisation from the Web version - 2025

Since the early 2025 updates, Gmail for Android has harmonised the way it works. The HTML signature configured on your computer is now automatically synchronised on your mobile application.

๐Ÿ‘‰ What you get:

  • Logos & Images: Faithful display โœ…
  • Clickable links**: Perfectly functional โœ…
  • Cleanliness**: No more [OBJ] type tags โŒ
  • Simplicity**: No more manual copy and paste on your phone โŒ

โš ๏ธ The golden principle: The web version is your "source of truth". The local mobile signature takes priority; if activated, it blocks synchronisation of the rich signature.

๐Ÿ’ป Step 1: Configure the "Master" signature on your computer

Everything starts here. To render impeccably on Android, your signature must be set up correctly on the browser.

  1. Connect to Gmail on your computer.
  2. Click on the icon Settings โš™๏ธ โ†’ View all settings.
  3. In the General tab, scroll down to the Signature section.
  4. Create or modify your signature.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Warning: Default values

Just below the signature editor, you must configure these options:

  • For new emails: Select your signature.
  • For replies/forwards**: Select your signature.

**Don't forget to click on "Save changes" at the bottom of the page.

๐Ÿงน Step 2: Clean up the Gmail application on Android

To make room for the HTML signature, you'll need to remove the "Mobile Signature" that acts as a lock.

  1. Open the Gmail application on your smartphone.
  2. Press the โ˜ฐ menu โ†’ Settings.
  3. Select the relevant email account.
  4. Press Mobile signature.
  5. Delete all the text. The field must be completely empty.
  6. Confirm with OK.

๐Ÿ’ก Did you know? In 2025, Gmail will now display an explanatory text: If this field is empty, the signature configured on the Web will be used " This is exactly what we want.

๐Ÿ”„ Step 3: Force synchronisation (if there's a delay)

If the rich signature does not appear immediately when you write a new message :

  1. Go to Settings on your Android phone.
  2. Go to Passwords and Accounts (or "Users and Accounts").
  3. Select your Google Account.
  4. Check that Gmail synchronisation is activated.
  5. Press the three dots โ‹ฎ โ†’ Sync Now.

*Note: restarting the application (force shutdown) is usually enough to refresh the display.

โœ… Expected end result

  • An identical HTML signature on PC and Android.
  • Images displayed without error.
  • Simplified maintenance: edit on PC, it's updated everywhere.

Warning! This tutorial is only for the online version using a Chrome or Firefox browser and not for applications on smartphones**. On mobile phones, we suggest you use the "Spark" application (a free application that is perfect for using email signatures, but not the only one), which works on iPhone, Android and MAC. Another advantage of Spark is that you can set up your signature on your MAC and if you install Spark on your smartphone (you'll need to configure your mailbox), the email signatures will automatically be set up on your smartphone.

Go to your CARD.PM user/administrator interface and select the "EMAIL SIGNATURE" tab.

Press the "COPY SIGNATURE**" button

Open your "Gmail" application, click on the toothed wheel in the menu and then select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.

Go to the email signature settings then make a "paste" (ctrl + the letter V on PC or cmd + the letter V on MAC) in the signature editing space.

IMPORTANT: Once the signature has been copied, all you have to do is save changes by clicking on the appropriate button at the bottom of the page.

Test your new signature by sending yourself an email (be sure to select the right email signature if you have several accounts). Once you've received the email (be sure to accept image downloads from your email application), click on the image in your email signature to check that you are being directed to your interactive business card (opening a web page with your business card).

You need to check your mail utility settings to ensure that it does not prohibit the display of incoming images.

If this is the case, you need to change the settings to accept images.

When editing an email, it is very common for the signature not to be displayed, although it will appear on receipt.
